City walks - Milan in a nutshell 


For those spending just a few days or a weekend in Milan, I developed the citywalk called 'Milan in a nutshell'. During this (private) two hour walking tour we see both the historic highlights of the city as well as the unknown pearls, like the Brera area and the contemporary architecture around Piazza Gae Aulenti. The tour is a perfect introduction to your stay in  Milan.

Photowalk CityLife

september 2019

Together with zeropxl I developed an architectural photowalk through City Life. In two groups of around twelve people each we walked around the area filled with contemporary architecture and invited them to watch the area through the lens of the camera. Amongst the participants were both camera-addicts as well as the 'usual' photographers enjoyed the morning and ended up with shots they usually wouldn't have made. 

Bike and walking tours in Milan


For different travel agencies, amongst them Tours by Locals and Baja Bikes/Bike and the City, I work as a local guide. I offer my tours through Milan both in Dutch and in English. Besides visiting the most important monuments of Milan, I also like to take my clients to less-known spots that are definitely worth a visit.

KNS Inspiration tour Milan

For one of the groups of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Slagers association (its members all having middle sized to big meat processing companies) I prepared a retail inspiration tour through Milan and accompanied them during their visits to food-processing companies like Fratelli Beretta and Igor Gorgonzola.

Innovative food retail tour

In collaboration with Focusplaza BV I organised a three-day trip to Milan. The members of the FoodFocus Business group are either entrepeneurs or account-, sales- or categorymanagers that supply supermarkets. They where given a full programm in which we visited ten supermarkets in Milan and made a day-trip to FICO Bologna.

Innovative food retail tour

The FoodFocus Masters group of Focusplaza, their members being foodproducers, retailers and out-of-home managers. To stay up-to-date of the latest innovations in the food retailworld, they visited ten excellent food retail concepts. Together with the Focusplaza staff I selected the places to visit and made sure a manager or director was there to welcome the group and explain everything about their store. 

Cultural walks 

september 2019

For a Dutch travel agency I organised three cultural walks through the city center of Milan. The client organises luxoury trips in which art and cultural are the main focus. Together with their participants we discovered known and unknown monuments in the city center. At each of the stops I explained them about the history of the location, particularities and tried to share anecdotes with them that make the location important for the history and development of Milan. 

Food inspirational trip Milan

For a group of Dutch entrepeneurs in the food sector I co-organised an inspirational trip to Milan.

In the morning they visited the food fairs Tutto Food and Seeds & Chips. In the afternoon we made a bike tour through visiting some of the most eccelent food retail concepts of Milan. 

The second day was dedicated to visits to companies that produces food and food related products as packaging materials.

Avans Hoogeschool decided to bring 90 students to Milan. In a four day trip they had to visit as much shops and retailconcepts as possibile in order to get input and inspiration for their own studies 'retail management and entrepeneurship'. I organised them two lunches and company visits and gave a presentation entitled 'a day in the life of an Italian'.

Food Tour Milan


Together with Farming the City I developed a food tour through Milan in which I explain about the history of the city seen through the lens of food. In a two hour walking tour we go from historic Brera to the modern Porta Garibaldi area. During the walking tour through Milan I explain you about the relation between food and the development of the city. Some small tastings of Milanese food specialities are foreseen. 

Reset Your Brand in Milan

january 2018

The Dutch organisation Reset Your Brand brought a well-known international ready-to-eat-vegetable producer to Milan. During their two day trip they dedicated an afternoon to visiting (small) retail concepts that focus on plant based foods. I gave a consult on the best places to visit and provided the group with five local guides that accompagnied the groups during their retail tour.

For the clients of the Dutch importer of wine, Way of Wine, I prepared a personalized food tour through Milan. During the day-trip we visited inspiring food hot spots in the city that demonstrated that simple but high-quality products are the perfect ingredients for delicious meals. 

DMC consultancy Milan trip

september 2019

A Dutch association of 30 car dealers asked me to support them with the organisation and execution of a weekend in Milan and its surroundings. I organised them an aperitivo and a dinner, a citywalk accompanied by three Dutch speaking locals and a daytrip to Franciacorte where they drove around with 15 oldtimers, enjoyed lunch overlooking Lago d'Iseo and finished the day with a winetasting in a winery.

Since 2019 I am the local author of time to momo Milaan. In a monthly article you find the best tips for your citytrip to Milan. And every (few) years we do a complete review of the guide and the time to momo app in order to keep it up to date. 

Walking tour Milan

october 2018

City Trip Travel ​asked me to organise a walking tour through Milan for two groups of Flemish travellers. The staff of the Province of Antwerp was given a one day city tour on foot. After a short visit to Milano Stazione Centrale we visited most highlights in the center, like Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and then slowly moved towards Brera and the Castello Sforzesco. A pleasant walk and a perfect way to really get to know Milan.

Focusplaza BV, a Dutch organisation that keeps professionals up-to-date on the latest innovations in the foodsector, asked Food in the Streets to co-organise a three-day trip through Milan. We we visited more than ten innovative supermarkets and foodretail locations that gave the participants inspiration to bring back home and apply in their own company. Milan is the perfect destination for these kinds of trendtours.
